Dear Marsho,
I am so happy to hear from you. I was beginning to worry about what is happening to you.
I am sorry to hear that life is so difficult there for you and your husband.
I don't know of any jobs there. Have you checked the local news papers for job offers? That might help. If you have joined a local Church people there should be able to help you decide where to apply. I sure hope this will help you because I live so far away and can not come there to try to help.
I certainly wish you the best of life and will pray to our Lord God to help you.
Dear Marsho,
Congratulation on getting the green card.
I have every hope that you'll find a suitable job very soon.
May ALLAH be with you and your husband,
Hi
I can't direct you to a job, but can help you with the lay of the land in North America. It is a place of living your dreams, where each person has the open road before them, free to turn where they may.
The Doctor that delivered my Son was 48 years old, when she went back to school to become a Doctor. She was 57 years old, when she delivered my Son, and it was her last night of Internship.
Jesus said the Father would send the Holy Spirit to guide us, and to ask that our joy might be fulfilled.
You have special skills that are unique to you, one is you speak two languages (maybe more I don't know) and can write them. Seek doing what you love, ask Jesus to help guide you. Not only can he keep you safe in a place of war, but also in a place that is foreign.
Hey Mars :)
Here's what worked for me in the past: go to the classified section of your local phone book...go down the list of company's one by one and call them and ask if they are hireing..when you find one that is...set up an appointment for interview.
First thing- stop complaining and concentrate on the task at hand. Look at what skills you have. You have language skills. Use them. Can you teach Arabic to non Arab speakers? Offer your skills at local colleges. Can your skills be used at local businesses that need Arab speakers? Is there a local news agency that can use your language skills? This is America and success is there for the taking but it won't come to find you.Oh yeah-Welcome to America...now get back to work!
Doc
Why on earth America's government do not help their new immigrants?
Welcome to America!!!
Walk into any store that you think you might like to work in and ask for an application. Fill it out and then sit and hope for the best. Apply in enough places and you should be successful. I would highly recommend trying to find a waitress job also Marsho. If you have never done it, it might be a bit harder to find, but the pay is generally better when you add in the tips, and once you have done it, it is one of the easiest jobs to find should the need occur again later. Both types of jobs are very social and you will meet many many nice people and some not so nice at either one. GOOD LUCK!
Usa is going to recession. There is no work and without job you are on your own. You should come to Europe as soon as you can
I am so happy for you marsho for getting the geen card, i am sorry, i cant help you this time with any piece of advice, mmmmmmmm, the thing that i will never think of as a job is to work as a babysitter. i will be killed.
lol
be safe and enjoy every moment. lots of love :) :) :)
Phone book's a good suggestion Marsh, and actually walking into stores and asking for an application rather than calling ( lets 'em know you're serious ). Get two part time jobs if needed ( or one, and start taking some classes at a community college. (Cheap and has resources) . Once you start getting to know some folks it becomes a network. You often get a lot of information about jobs and such from those you know. Keep a positive attitude and it'll shine through. Good luck to ya!!! Solo

Get to any supermarket with your SSC number 3 reference people with phone numbers. Try to present yourself as a refugee and not as immigrants. Implowers love them more because they can not travel outside USA and sponsered by Humanitarian Orginizations and can not leave the job. Therefore say you are Refugee and sponsored by a given Orginization and give the name of any one of them. Also, you can work as housekeeper they give more ours in hotels than supermarkets. Also, you can work in pharmacies like CVS and others. Cling to any job before the winter. The winter is the end of the world because there is no jobs in winter. Good luck!!

Dear Iraqi Bourgeois,
Welcome here and thanks for your help...I have done all that and especially CVS which I got rejection from them...it sucks!!!
I have applied through all these websites and more than you expect but in vain.
Get a drivin' license
Get a car and try to work for Humanitarian Organization. I mean as a case-worker. Your Engliah is perfect.

HE is indeed a mystery to many, and a fascination to many scientists and writers alike. I like the debate on "The Davinci Code" book (not the movie) on his personality between the two main characters.
