No for the 3 million raise!

As I was flipping through radio stations I stopped at Sawa radio; it is an Iraqi broadcasting corporation from the States oriented to the Middle Eastern dwellers. I heard the broadcaster suggests starting a poll about the parliament members in Baghdad and their salaries, it was like that: Do you agree or disagree on the suggestion that states raising the parliament salaries 3 more million Iraqi dinnars for their hard work and endeavors? OK let me state what I have heard and known about them and then decide whether they deserve or not? Three weeks ago I was on my way to my house, it was hot plus I was so thirsty the way I couldn't share the people who were in the same car with me, I was only listening to their blabs. The conversation started like this: H; an old lady who has almost 40 years of experience working in the governmental institutions was fuming and wanted to vent it out with our driver and another lady who sat beside me. H said: I am fed up with it, I have had enough of their bullshit can't you smell it? E; the other lady said: what is wrong H, are you OK? Has any one stepped on your feet or something? H: no, not really but it is something unbearable and bigger than what you think, can you believe that X is getting retired and will keep on the same salary he used to get as he was a member of city council? Can you believe that he was getting 14, 000, 000 ID each month? He doesn't move his fat ass off the chair, sitting at his lavish desk under the fresh air of his AC unit in his giant office! What the hell is he doing for his people? Nothing!! He pays for his PSD's and lives in a luxury house, plus I heard that he owns a building in Syria…while he works in a place in city that needs sooooo much work starting from paving the roads, renovating the traffic lights, shuffle tons of garbage that are every where in the city… not to mention that hundreds of schools need to be refurbish again…Alright lets say that he deserves it NOW but what shall this 14 million will do for him as he retires, huh??? Isn't better to go to somewhere else that is useful? H kept talking and I forgot my nausea and thirstiness trying to come up with some results from this complicated equation but something was keeping me from talking… H: and guess what? Most of the parliaments and city council members are promised to go on vacation in Summer time! Poor people they are working their butt off none stop therefore they need to go on R&R!! BULLCRAP! What about us? Aren't we the same? At least we have long-period experience and know that without our work and achievements the country won't progress… This is unfair I swear to God: H said that while she was whipping the sweat that was dropping from her forehead… E tried to calm her down so did the driver... I wanted to get into the conversation but didn't have a good background about the environment and people they were talking about… Three days ago, the same individuals sat in the car including me, as the driver was flipping through the radio stations he stopped at Sawa radio and exactly at the same subject I had stopped at a week ago…Oh man!! I said to my self what would H say when she hears the 3 million ID subject ringing her ears? That is upsetting for sure. As the broadcaster was talking about the poll, H was moving her head to the right and to the left you can tell that she was fuming and wanted to say something… I myself was upset so how about H, of course she has the right to get mad… No: I said that in a moment of silence Every one turned back staring at me, what? No? For what? I said: sorry for not being a part of your conversation the other day because I was so tired but I was listening to every single word were said and wanted eagerly to share you my point of views, today I say no for the suggestion…3 million ID is too much. lets suppose that the whole parliament of Baghdad includes 200 members, and each one gets about $ 8000 a month which is equal to 9,600,000 ID, 200*9,600,000 = 1,920,000,000 ID as their monthly payment how about the additional 3 million raise 200 = 600,000,000 that is only for Baghdad, lets say that each city has 20 members, 18 cities subtract Baghdad and the three northern cities of Kurdistan we have 14 cities, the amount will be 20*3000,000*14 =840,000,000 ID + 600,000,000 ID of Baghdad it equals 1,440,000,000 ID…huge, huh??? Besides this result I got bulged eyes peeping at me, they were all staring at me shockingly! How could you calculate? I said it is easy, instead of having my afternoon tea I was thinking of the amount that will go to those people which in my point of view is a misuse and instead it should go to other places, like building new hospitals, fixing the water and sewage systems, rewarding the army units that have fought and demolished the terror cells in the country, implant nice and useful trees and flowers in the public areas and streets just like Kurdistan –Erbil. In Erbil, I can't remember the name of the street that has noticed a big change in its structures, I've heard that about 20 + trees were implanted in that street, each tree costs $200, for this reason I can salute the gov for bringing something useful and simple simultaneously to the city and it is fabulous to the one's eyes, it will purify the weather, absorb the co2 and produce O2 which is healthy for human being, gives a nice look and implement to the onlooker once he/she looks at the street…plus it does not cost that much comparing to its magical work… Imagine with me 1 billion and 4 hundred millions goes to those whom are sitting inside secure building, traveling around the world and watching their people suffer, live in poverty, or getting offended by neighbor countries, lets not forget that I supposed the numbers by reducing in order not to go to the extreme and get named as the exaggerating blogger…. Back to H, she was silent but you could see 1000 questions marks in her eyes or may be they were 1 billion! Ha! I said don't worry H, you just live your life as a simple honest citizen, believe me you won't need to be in their shoes one day because it is a hard time life, insecure, full of blabs it might lead its person to either mental hospital or to the grave… (I said that trying to calm her down knowing that %50 of what I said is true and the rest is may be changeable) You know what, I like H and want her to live a healthy life especially she is almost 60 so I don't want to be the main reason to send her to death, so I decided to hide one last thing on her in order to let her alone in peace… As I retuned home, I yelled at my room furniture: Hey H, DO YOU KNOW THAT THE IRAQI PRESIDENT IS ASSIGEND TO GET PAID HIS NEW SALARY WHICH IS 53 MILLION DINARS ($45,000) A MONTH??
