How nice it is when you are sitting on your chair no matter how your room, office, or cozy is beautiful or ugly or small but the main thing is that you have a laptop or desktop hooked to the net.
How nice it is when you wake up and have no newspapers set on the doormat of your door, but have the Internet to browse the most famous newspapers ever, and get to know the news instantly.
How nice it is when you are in a hurry and can not wait to go to the post office to send a post card for your friends who are in different country, instead, you hit the 123greetings or any other site that offers the e-cards service, it only takes few minutes to send instead of few weeks.
Let alone shopping via credit card (I'll keep this pending) as we don't have the credit card system yet in Iraq.
And so many choices and businesses that you can acomplish via the net.
OK how about if you travel around the world while you are sitting, or laying on your bed, or itching your skin causing a red irritated spot traced back to the domestic mosquito's bite??? nice, isn't it?
Take a look at these photos and then read bellow.
Well these pictures were not taken by my camera, nor were sent via email as a forward...actually I visited these places few days ago!! and took those snapshots.
Yes, I was sitting on my chair, enjoying the delicious flavor of my red apple. I visited Austria - Pfaenderhang, Japan, antique shop in Europe. super market at night, and a city square do not know even where...
Every thing is possible when it comes to Google search, I was reading in one of the technological websites, and found a trick word, a mantra that you write in Google's search bar and you get all live cameras around the world...the word is: liveapplet.
You get to see airports, metros, New York times square, factories, Zoos, and you get the picture!
Although I have not been on a plane nor to any other country except Syria, I feel as if I went to all those places which I searched through Google...I always say it, I LOVE TECHNOLOGY.
I found that so nice to share it with you all...
Enjoy

I like being able to find out the answer to anything, instantly. Before the Internet if you didn't know something, your only resource was leaving the house and heading to the library! Now you just open up Google. Poof! You have the answer in seconds. :-)
Technology rocks!
I think it's funny, the phrase "just google it" has become such a part of our lexicon. I don't even remember what it was we did before it! I mean, where did we find all of our answers?
and just look at how it connects people. I mean, we live so very far apart, and yet we can communicate as though we were in the same room or just across town.

Marsh,
Thanks for sharing, technology is amazing. Just the other day I found a friend on facebook that I hadn't talked to in almost 10 years! Now I have his family's blog and I can keep up with them. It's great stuff. Anyway, I went in search of webcams after your post and found a bunch from my neck of the woods if you'd like to see. I live in Anchorage and there are a lot of different views of our town. Hope you enjoy!

I love technology too
without it I would have never
found you =)
All of the new technology you mentioned is fantastic! I wouldn't be in a big hurry to experience "shopping with credit cards" if I were you. If you aren't real careful they are not a blessing and in fact have ruined many good people.
You have a very nice looking blog.
Joe
Yes technology is a bliss, but it can also be destructive at the same time. Inshallah one day MM you will be able to visit all these places for real..
Yep, it can be destructive too, like anything taken to extremes. I still like the quiet solitude of a library but I sure like the Net, Webcams are pretty cool Marsh. When a friend of mine went to N.Y. he gave me a call and I could see him and his son waving at me on the cam. I like the instant information available, but I think the best part is some of the people I've met around the world. I have seen some folks though that are so deep into technology, they seem oblivious to everything else around them. I'll see what we've got in the way of webcams here and e-mail 'em to you. Solo
Hi Marsho
how are you girl, you realy like Technology, it is realy wonderfull to visit all these places while you were at home, tell me when you'll ganna visit these places again, I can go there too, maybe I will meet you there
hhehehehhe
PS: I'm realy working on developping my English vocabularies and grammars, I'm reading stories and short articals in english..Cuz you know what Marsho, French language was controling my mind :)
take care girl
WOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!
you looked at pictures from MY HOMETOWN IS THAT NOT CRAZY??!!
Did I ever tell you that I went 8 years of my life to high school in Bregenz, the place where the "Pfaenderhang" picture comes from? And the picture of a square you don't konw where it is, it is the market square (in german: "Marktplatz") of a nearby town called "Dornbirn". Great choice!
Can you immagine what that means? I actually have crossed these squares multiple times in my life, and you found them on the web by - what - pure chance? (I guess there are many many webcam pictures of Austria and you didn't know that I lived in Bregenz for 20 years)
--> Fantastic.
--> You made my day.
--> wanna see where I'm moving around these days? (hope it works - temporarily out of order right now)

Apart from that: nice to be on your blog again. I just realized that the war in Iraq is lasting nearly as long as the second world war and is likely to last longer. Realized also that I pay taxes in one of the war-leading countries (UK). Saw a lost of horrible pictures, read a lot of utterly disturbing facts, being a pretty irritated. Reading your blog and the one of neurotic iraqi housewife was a logical consequence and gave me the rest.
--> "Stop it", that's all I can say.
--> there goes my day.
--> hope to hear from you soon.
WooHoo Flo,
Where have you been man???
Great to hear from you..
Guess what my friend, while I was veiwing the cam on Pfaenderhang, I thought about you! I said he might have been here :D
What a coincidense wow..

Please post something about your life in UK...am sicking seeing that flag every time I visit your blog ;p
See ya..
