After large ransom paid; they were murdered

As to condoles my friend's family for her dad's loss due to a sharp heart attack, one of her neighbors heard about it too late, the parents and their son decided to visit my friend (V) and give their condolences to her tormented Mom and siblings...
You know, whenever some one attends a funeral ceremony or beyond to be with and support the deceased's family you notice this thing: death subject runs on.
Most of the comforters use to talk about others tragedies on how they lost their beloved, or how did they barbarously get killed, or tortured before they die or beheaded....The reason of mentioning these real stories is to encourage the family who lost its beloved and to show them that the death of their son/daughter/father/mother,etc was lesser and more kindness than others death...plus, to keep their faith in God, cuz many people blame and question God when they lose someone, and let the devil to misgive and corrupt their minds and hearts about God.
V was telling me about the family whom she welcomed at her house yesterday, she talked about their belated visit because first: they didn't hear about the loss of V's dad secondly they were in 2 funerals that synchronized with V's dad's death....
"You won't believe me Marsh!!! It is a disaster !! My dad's death is nothing comparing to those betrayed young men!!!!! I felt like I am condoling that family not them!!!" V couldn't help her torrential tears.
" Oh, please calm down and tell me what did you hear?"
Marsh, two young men were driving back to their village (Karemlesh- Mousol), they were excited going home after selling some goods and gaining money to buy things for Christmas!!
Suddenly they were pended by what you call it: insurgents, or gang, or mob or terrorists...
Those thugs kidnapped the two young men on Saturday...
Sunday Morning they had to call the parents of the two abducted men and ask for ransom which was $40,000 to set them free, they threatened by killing the men if the money was not available!!!
Relatives, friends, neighbors cooperated to collect that big amount... By Monday, they received another call to make sure that the money is ready, and yes it was...
Monday evening the money was delivered, parents and folks were all waiting for the show up of the young men, but they didn't...
Tuesday Morning they were killed and no one knew about it...
No one told the parents that their well-liked are not alive any more, but worse than that, the kidnappers kept calling and asking for more money just to free the guys...
Few days later:
A dead body was put in a bag and had three shots on the back of his head...
That was the first man...
His family received the body and buried it to rest in peace but still missing the other guy!
A fisherman was sitting on the riverside waiting for his prey, but instead of catching a fish, he saw a body was floating on the water...he ran to pick up the dead body and took it to the morgue to stay there two months over there...
What a coincidence! one of his relatives working at that hospital, when she saw the corpse, she realized who he was and told his family at once, unfortunately he was severely deformed, his body was half eaten by fishes and birds, what a horrible way he died by!!
They buried him and did the funeral ceremony two months after his missing!
Nonetheless, the kidnappers still calling and thinking that no one knew about their crime...
I was totally shocked and didn't feel that my tears were pouring on my cheeks...
V was kinda calm and comforted...She realized that her dad's death was naturally and in front of his kids...
That reminded me of the infamous Arabic proverb (مصائب قوم عند قوم فوائد)
I don't know how to put it in English, please Arabic bloggers help me to translate.

I think I would put the proverb in English like this:

The disasters of some people are benefits for others.

Hi Marsh

How tragidic ?!

I don't thni that you've used the correct proverb for this story, I think the correct one is 'seeing the tragidy of the others will ease your problem'

Illi yeshoof balawi elnas tehoon 3leh musebteh.

Sorry, that what I think as she didn't get any benefit from killing those guys, it's up to you.
I know that I'm not good at translation but keen on proverbs
