Of course not!! Me neither. I created this term and my lines will elaborate it. FLO : is one of our friends and he is an Austrian blogger as well. I like to visit his blog and read his posts.
………..
I got to know his blog via surfing the blogsphere coincidently because I was looking for Fulbrighters all over the world, as soon as I typed "Fulbright", his blog popped up...I enjoyed reading it and left a comment. Since that day we both visit each others blogs and share our thoughts.
………..
Since I was a kid, I have always heard about the beauty of Austria especially its capital city : Vienna.
………..
For Arabic readers I am sure that must of you known the great Arabic singer" Asmahan" with her famous lovely song" Layali el auns fi Vienna," . Which means " intimacy nights in Vienna". She mentions that even the birds chirps for Vienna, and how beautiful it is...She mentions in her song that all sleepless nights, and parties are there, each couple can spend the greatest time in there...And the song keeps going, I am sorry that I neither have the lyrics nor know the whole song. my bad!!
………..
Austria is a very well known for its famous musicians as well such as: Joseph Haydn، Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart، Franz Schubert، and Arnold SchÃnberg.

If you are more interested please visit the site here.
………..
I asked Flo to post some recent pictures of Austria, because I like to see how it is and how people live there, and he did. If you are interested please visit his blog HERE.
………..
I admire the pictures that flo posted, they show how prospering Austria is!! How modern and clean and SAFE is!! Yea SAFE, we are missing this word long time ago here in Iraq.
………..
My friend asked me to post some pictures of Iraq, and some perfect places because he is interested to see my country....I had a big exclamation mark over my face! What? Pictures of Iraq?? How and which city and what...uhh???
………..
I was so sad to tell him that I would love to but recently we have no interesting place here except for the holes that are filling the streets, the destroyed and ramshackle buildings, traces of explosions every where, and Oh yea we have some monuments of detonated cars they still in the roads...We have no amusement parks to go to..No gardens, even the Malwya of Sammra (the incurvate mosque of Sammara) that most of you have seen on the stamps, was fribbled by insurgents, the golden dome of the Imam was bombed, burnt facades of some churches, the Lion of Babylon is beheaded, the alatedTaurus is inside a military base we can not go and see, the ancient castle in Kirkuk is surrounded with barbed wires and NO VISITORS, smokes here and there, sullage in each neighborhood, corpses every where, smell of death and big black piece of cloth remarks the martyr so-and-so...
………..
Where ever you go, you see policemen, nationalguards not to mention US troops the way you feel that taking a picture might cost you your life, because they will think that you are one of those terrorists trying to snipe them from far distance, or these pictures might be some helpful info to the terror org. in the country!!!
………..
Or do I have to take a picture of those sheepherders with their herds of sheep, goats, cows, and dogs!!! Or a picture of the flock of swans prancing in the streets? Hens here, roosters there!!Koko kokooooooooooo....
………..
Or a picture to the traffic jam and the infinite row of cars waiting for the gasoline?? Or a picture of the passengers?? No way, I will get in trouble because war made most Iraqis such anti-celibratories, they lost the smile from their faces and replaced it wirth fawn...
………..
But nevertheless, there are still some signs and marks of honor that still existing with pride: the Iraqi flag, the date palms...
………..
We are, Iraqis lets get together, lets help our country, lets make it one of the marvelous nations like it was before, before any other ancient nation, lets build it, clean it, let us make it remarkable that any other singer eulogize its glory and deep - rootedness. Let us make it another Austria, the Arabic Austria.
………..
p.s Dear Flo, I will do my best to take some good pictures when I have the chance to step outside the house and post them here in my blog...

Hey Nicole,
thanks for featuring my blog. I think I have to clarify one point, though: I did not want to see the "perfect" places of your country. The motivation of my request was not "I show you how cool my country is, now show me how cool your country is." The motivation was interest in Iraqi life apart from all the horrible things that happen (to the extent a seperation is possible). And I insist, "interest" and not "voyeurism" is the word. That Iraqi flag you mention, for example, is exactly what I was thinking of...BUT: my silly request is not worth taking any risk - if it's too dangerous, leave it! I guess you knew that anyway...
BTW, there is a wonderful movie called "before sunrise" which is set in Vienna and gives you a nice feel of city. I can recommend it to everybody.
Hey Flo,
Thanks for your comment...
I have seen that movie before and I loved it.
About the pictures, don't worry they will be on sonner or later, take care.
Hi Flo,
I'm an American, and wanted to see what Iraqis were saying about what is happening. Your description of what you can't take a picture of now, and why made me cry. I want to apologize. I am so sorry about what my country has done to yours. I didn't want it to happen, I was against this from the beginning. Bush is an embarassment and he disgusts me and scares me. What he has done to Iraq is entirely his fault. The American people don't believe him, and quite honestly he didn't win the election. I don't know WHY he hates your country, I certainly don't, I had a deep fascination in your culture and your history. I know it was bad under Saddam, but I wish we had never gone in there to take him out. Saddam could have been gotten rid of in a lot less deadly ways.
I'm sorry we haven't gotten rid of Bush. I fear we are in the same situation that you were with Saddam, actually, and that he won't leave even when it's time for him to go under our Constitution. That's a scary situation not only for America, but for the entire globe. Because Bush won't stop with Iraq. Bush is a psycopath. And our Republican controlled Congress are nothing but enablers to his dementia.
Again, please accept my apologies. I never wanted this to happen to your country. I knew before Bush waged war that this was all based on lies, and that your country had done nothing to us. I'm not sure what the best answer to Saddam would have been, but it's obviously not what we did.
Please don't judge our soldiers too harshly either. They are pawns in a huge game made by mega millionaires, just as you are also pawns. They should be back home, and they should be getting post traumatic stress treatment. I love our kids, and I'm sick at heart that they are over there involved in an illegal war. But it's really not their fault. And I suspect they are probably going crazy there. And not in a good way. Hold them accountable, but don't hold them responsible, because they didn't do this, Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney did this, and they should swing for it.
Again, I apologize for what my nation has done to yours. I was against it, and I'm still against it, and I'm ashamed by what has happened. This is NOT the America I grew up with, everything has changed here, and I'm getting very, very worried. This unprovoked attack on your country is very out of character and I'm sick at heart that we did it. I don't know how we will ever atone, if we ever stop occupying it. I know colonialism NEVER works, and I'm surprised that our military is trying to fix things to make this huge embassy happen.
I want you to know that I'm sorry. And I would like you to pass on to your friends, that there are many Americans, like me who are totally appalled at what is happening in Iraq because of what we did. We are ashamed. And once we can get rid of the Bush family, once and for all, we will try and heal these rifts between our cultures.
I'm sorry, I really am sorry.
:(
Joy
Hello Miss Fancy pants,
Please don't apologize for what is going on here in Iraq, because it is not your fault, it is not the American people's fault but the wrong politics...
We don't need to judge any one because God will take care of that, you make so happy when you show your emotions towards my country and people, and that is such a good sign tells me that there are many Americans care for us just like we do...
I thank you for visiting my blog and hope to see your comments always :)
I feel both sad and proud reading your words. Sad because of the situation, and proud because of the way you respond to it.
It's really a tragedy of humanity. Loss of lives can't be repaired. Hope that Iraqis people can be united soon, are not easily provoked to kill each other, and work together to rebuild new, sovereign, and prosperous Iraq.
